The library at Lyndon Hall has a leather
bound volumn of Crimean War (1853-1856) photographs. If you are interested in
learning a little more about the Crimean war

the Wikipedia article
The first photograph in the collection is by
Roger Fenton, who is well known for his historic Crimean War photographs and
"The War Council's commanders-in-chief of
the Allies, Lord Raglan (Britain), Omar Pasha (Ottoman Empire) and General
Pelisier (France) hold a meeting, 1855. Raglan's role in the battles of
Balaklava and Inkerman (including the ill-fated Charge of the Light Brigade)
ensured him both a baronetcy and a prominent place in history. He died while
still serving in Crimea"
The description above comes from the
Daily Telegraph web site (May 2014).
We know very little else about this album and
if there is anyone reading this who can throw any light on these photographs we
would be delighted to hear from them.
